Aspergillus genetics and genomics

Research Leads: Mike Bromley, Paul Bowyer, Elaine Bignell

The functional aspects of the Aspergillus genome can be interrogated through genome wide mutagenesis approaches. We hold a library of 500,000 Aspergillus transposon mutants, and are in the process of generating a whole genome knockout library in A. fumigatus. We have developed screening methodologies to rapidly assess these libraries for various phenotypic traits including susceptibility and resistance to antifungal agents and in vivo pathogenesis.
