£28.5m invested in new NIHR Biomedical Research Unit at UHSM/Manchester University

University Hospital of South Manchester (UHSM) has become a key part of the new £28.5 million NIHR Biomedical Research Centre in Manchester, UK.

UHSM's world leading respiratory research units including the National Aspergillosis Centre will provide the respiratory disease component of the new NIHR Biomedical Research Unit and will now be further empowered to push forward to improve diagnostics and treatment research to accelerate the translation of early stage research into use in the clinic for the benefit of patients of all age groups and backgrounds in the North West of England.
